Celebrating a Milestone – Over 3,350 Dogs Transported and Counting!

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone for Take Me Home Transport: we have successfully transported over 3,350 dogs from overcrowded shelters to no-kill facilities where they have a better chance of finding loving homes. This achievement marks a monumental step in our mission to save lives and ensure that no dog faces euthanasia due to lack of space.

The Journey to 3,350: A Labor of Love

Our journey to transporting over 3,350 dogs has been one filled with dedication, hard work, and the unwavering support of our volunteers, donors, and partner organizations. Each transport mission involves meticulous planning and coordination to ensure the safety and well-being of every dog.

1. Preparation and Health Checks: Before embarking on their journey, each dog undergoes thorough health checks, including vaccinations and obtaining necessary health certificates. This process ensures that all dogs are fit for travel and helps prevent the spread of diseases during transport.

2. Climate-Controlled Transport Vehicles: Our transport vehicles are specially designed to provide a comfortable and safe environment for the dogs. Each vehicle is climate-controlled and equipped with individual kennels to ensure the dogs' comfort throughout the journey, with enough food and water.

3. Coordination with Partner Shelters: Take Me Home Transport partners exclusively with vetted no-kill shelters outside of Texas. These shelters are carefully selected to ensure they can provide the care and attention needed for the dogs to thrive and find their forever homes.

Stories of Hope and Transformation

Behind every transported dog is a story of hope and transformation. Here are a few heartwarming tales that highlight the impact of our transport missions:

Success Stories and Milestones

One of our heartwarming success stories is Billy Bob.  Billy Bob was picked up by Animal Control in a rural Texas shelter.  He was transported to New Hampshire after spending 29 nights waiting for a forever home.  He was adopted almost immediately by a wonderful family and he loves his cat brother.

Another inspiring story is that of Tex.  Tex's journey began in the Lockhart, TX shelter, where he spent 76 days waiting for a forever home, always at risk due to shelter overcrowding. On May 20, 2022, he was transported to a shelter in Minnesota. Just a few weeks later, on June 4, 2022, Tex found his perfect match and was adopted.  Now known as Nash, he lives a joyful life with his loving family in Wisconsin. Nash has two kitty siblings, Nona and Ava, whom he adores. He's truly living his best life, surrounded by love and companionship.

The Impact of Reaching 3,350 Transports

Transporting over 3,350 dogs has had a profound impact on both the dogs and the communities involved. This milestone represents:

1. Lives Saved: Each transport mission saves dogs from the risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. By relocating these dogs to no-kill shelters with higher adoption rates, we give them a second chance at life.

2. Reduced Shelter Overcrowding: Our efforts help alleviate the burden on overcrowded shelters, allowing them to focus on providing better care for the remaining animals and improving overall shelter conditions.

3. Increased Adoption Rates: By moving dogs to regions with higher demand for adoptable pets, we increase their chances of finding loving homes. This not only benefits the dogs but also brings joy and companionship to the families who adopt them.

How You Can Help

Our journey doesn't end here. We continue to rely on the support of our community to save more lives. Here are ways you can get involved:

1. Donate: Your financial contributions are vital to our mission. Donations help cover the costs of transport, medical care, and other essential needs for the dogs. All donations are fully tax deductible.

2. Volunteer: We always need dedicated volunteers to assist with driving transport routes, fostering dogs, and helping with administrative tasks. Your time and effort make a significant difference.

3. Spread the Word: Share our mission and success stories with your network. Raising awareness helps us reach more potential volunteers, donors, and adopters.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate the milestone of transporting over 3,350 dogs, we are motivated to continue our mission with even greater determination. Our goal is to increase the number of transports, expand our network of partner shelters, and ensure that every dog has the opportunity to find a loving home.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported Take Me Home Transport. Your generosity, dedication, and compassion have made this achievement possible. Together, we can continue to make a difference, one transport at a time.
